Jason (I sent this by email too). Wowee – thanks for your fab comment. That is so awesome to hear you grew up in Alaska. Ty’s parents lived there in the late 50’s and one of Ty’s sisters was born there; he’s always wanted to visit! This’ll be the first time for both of us.

We’re starting out from Vancouver – which route do you recommend? We’re thinking to go up one way and back another – probably through Edmonton/Calgary and head east in the late summer.

What parts of Alaska do you recommend we visit? We’ll likely head for Anchorage, and visit Fairbanks… maybe get to Juneau too. I just love the movie Into The Wild – deeply inspiring. I imagine you’ve seen it.

Hope life in Argentina is GRAND!

Mari,

I'm so excited to hear that you're going to Alaska! I grew up in Alaska. Summer is paradise there. My wife and I spent summer 2005 and 2006 in Alaska.

What parts do you plan to visit?

I imagine you will be driving the Alcan Hwy. I've traveled that many times in my life. It's quite the adventure.

Once my family and I moved from AK to the lower 48 in a yellow school bus. My dad bought it, cleared out the seats and filled it with all our worldly possessions. It was quite the adventure.

Let me know if you have any AK questions! Safe travels.
