I spend 2 weeks traveling through Alaska this June of 2008 and put over 2000 miles on the little rental car. Alaska is such an amazing place, and yes, I am now totally ruined and spoiled for other travel. But, I'll keep at it! ;-) We saw Denali for about 30 seconds. Boo! Otherwise though, this trip was just the most incredible, awe-inspiring, jaw dropping, experience I've ever had. We visited Anchorage, Seward, the Mat-Su area, Valdez, Fairbanks, Denali, Talkeetna, and Homer. Saw more animals than I have room to list here. Thanks for writing about your experiences. We will probably do north America last on our open ended tour, since I have seen much of it, but it is a fabulous country/continent and I have not seen Alaska yet. We are in Sweden now with our RV and soon will go to Norway, it will be interesting to compare the two. There is just so much beauty on this planet, that the more you see, the more you want to see and experience. We are going on our 3rd year and see no stopping in our future. Keep enjoying your adventure and letting everyone know that the dream is doable!! I am so inspired. You are the first person I have "met" who is actually doing exactly what I want to do!. This summer my parents, sister, and I RVed the Alaskan interior for about 10 days. By far the most amazing experience/trip of my life. Not only was the family time priceless but Alaska... well... you cannot explain Alaska as you well know. You have to experience it. :-) To live in an RV and travel everyday is my dream. I will get there! I'm excited to follow your blogs.
